With over 150 years of combined expertise in the curtain walling and cladding industry, Cladtech has built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading facade consultancies.

Founded in 1985 by Stephen Green and Peter Plough, Cladtech Associates began as a partnership and rapidly expanded its reach across the UK and internationally. The practice drew on a legacy of knowledge established by its forerunners, with connections to Norman Plough and Russ Buczkowski, pioneers in the window and curtain wall consultancy field since the 1970s. Between 1985 and 2017, Cladtech worked on over 5,500 projects, from iconic skyscrapers to large-scale residential developments.

In 2017, Cladtech transitioned into Cladtech Associates Ltd, with the founding partners becoming directors. The company has remained independent, providing impartial technical advice to developers, contractors, and construction professionals. As a member of the CWCT (Centre for Window and Cladding Technology), Cladtech contributed to drafting the CWCT Standard, underscoring its commitment to industry excellence.

The leadership team has evolved, with Shaun Kelly and Lawrence Gray now serving as principal directors. Shaun Kelly holds a master’s degree in facade engineering and has dedicated his career to the industry. Lawrence Gray, who also has a master’s degree in facade engineering as well as a background in architectural technology, brings technical precision to the firm’s operations.

Our team of senior consultants, including Tony Selkirk, David Scott, Jon Hird, Peter Hirst, and Rosemary Young, each bring over 20 years of experience in cladding design, testing, and installation. Together, we deliver exceptional results, ensuring facades meet the highest standards of performance and compliance.

1985

Cladtech Associates was formed by Stephen Green and Peter Plough and they expanded its UK and international activities considerably.

1993

Cladtech were part of the Technical Committee set up to draft and publish the first CWCT Standard for Systemised Building Envelopes.

2005

Cladtech were part of the Technical Committee set up to draft and publish the first version of Chapter 6.9 of the NHBC standard covering Curtain Walling and cladding.

2017

Cladtech Associates became a Limited company with Peter Plough, Simon Armstrong, and Shaun Kelly as Directors.

The company that would become Cladtech Associates was formed by Norman Plough and Russ Buczkowski.

Simon Armstrong joined Cladtech Associates and became a partner in 2000

Shaun Kelly joined Cladtech Associates and became a partner in 2011.

Lawrence Gray joined Cladtech Associates and became a director in 2019.
